Getting started
I've never done yoga. Where do I start?
Right where you are. Never stepped on a mat, or returning after years away? A Guided Ashtanga class is the easiest way in, it leads you through the sequence so you can learn the system without having to know it first. Your first class is free, so it costs nothing to find out how it feels.
Do I need to be flexible, or already fit?
No. Yoga is for every-body. Whether you are new to the path or a seasoned practitioner, Melanie meets you exactly where you are.
Is the first class really free?
Yes. Your first live class is on us, and it's $20 per class after that. There is no membership and no commitment, so you can drop in whenever it suits you, just ask for your free first class.
The practice
What's the difference between Guided and Mysore Ashtanga?
In a Guided class, Melanie leads the whole room through the traditional sequence together, breath linked to movement. In Mysore, the traditional method, you practice the same sequence at your own pace while she guides you individually within the group, and you learn the postures gradually, exactly as they were meant to be taught.
What is Yin?
The practice of stillness. Long-held, passive floor poses work into the deep connective tissues and joints, giving the nervous system room to settle. It's the quiet counterbalance to a vigorous practice.
Which one should I choose?
Either. The fire of Ashtanga and the water of Yin are two complementary halves of one whole, begin with whichever calls you and in time you practice both. Not sure? Say so in your message and Melanie will help you decide. All offerings are listed on classes.
Where do classes take place?
Live online over Zoom, so you can practice from anywhere, with real-time guidance and the quiet energy of a shared practice, without the commute.
Beyond class
Do you offer one-on-one work?
Yes, one-on-one wellness elevation and immersive soundscape events, personal, intuitive work blending traditional technique with the body–mind connection. Melanie also teaches pranayama and meditation, the subtle heart of the tradition.
Workshops, collaborations, or press?
All welcome, along with a genuine hello. Real outreach always gets a real reply, send a message and choose Workshop or collaboration.
Who is Melanie?
