ASHTANGA YOGA

Rooted in a sacred lineage, Ashtanga is a dynamic, structured practice that synchronizes breath with a progressive series of postures. This “meditation in motion” is designed to build internal heat, purify the body, and cultivate an unwavering sense of mental clarity. Melanie offers both guided sessions and traditional Mysore-style practice, providing individualized, one-on-one guidance within a supportive group setting.

  • Builds Functional Strength: Develops lean muscle and core stability through repetitive, powerful movements.
  • Cultivates Mental Focus: The fixed sequence allows the mind to quiet, turning the practice into a moving meditation.
  • Internal Purification: High-intensity breathwork creates heat (tapas) to detoxify the body and nervous system.

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is the essential functional balance to a high-energy lifestyle or a vigorous “yang” practice. By holding passive floor poses for longer durations, we target the deep connective tissues (the fascia), ligaments, and joints. Melanie’s Yin classes focus on the profound connection between the body and mind, offering a space to slow down, reset the nervous system, and invite deep energetic healing.

  • Enhances Mobility: Gently stretches and rehabilitates the deep connective tissues and joints.

  • Regulates the Nervous System: Long, mindful holds trigger the parasympathetic response, reducing stress and anxiety.

  • Emotional Release: Provides a meditative space to process and release stored tension within the body.

  • Balances Energy Flow: Clears blockages along the body’s meridian lines to improve overall vitality and circulation.
